The SMA Sunny Tripower Hybrid X 30 is the flagship of the Hybrid X range and is aimed at installers delivering the largest hybrid systems in the series: commercial buildings, agricultural sites, apartment blocks and solar canopies with battery storage. Rated at 29.99 kW and 29.99 kVA with an efficiency of up to 97.7%, it accepts as much as 45 kWp on the DC side. Four independent MPP trackers, two string inputs per tracker, 32 A per tracker (45 A Isc) and a 370–850 V MPP range give the design freedom needed for very large, non-uniform arrays. With SMA high-voltage batteries it maximises self-consumption, limits grid imports at peak tariffs and, with the optional SMA Backup solution, secures the supply of the entire building during an outage. Up to five hybrid inverters can be operated in parallel — close to 150 kW of hybrid capacity — while the integrated System Manager coordinates up to 10 subordinate devices, keeping the system architecture simple. The unit measures 780 × 270 × 618 mm, weighs 45 kg, is rated IP65 for outdoor wall mounting and is commissioned in around five minutes through the SMA 360° app. Wi-Fi and Ethernet are standard, 4G optional, and monitoring runs on the ISO 27001-certified SMA Cloud.
