The SMA Sunny Tripower Hybrid X 12 is a three-phase hybrid inverter for high-consumption homes and small multi-family buildings that pair a large PV array with battery storage. It replaces a separate inverter, battery charger and energy manager with a single, cloud-connected device. With 12 kW of nominal power, 12 kVA of apparent power and a maximum efficiency of 97.6%, it takes up to 18 kWp on the DC side. Three independent MPP trackers operating from 240 to 850 V, a 90 V start-up voltage and a 1000 V maximum system voltage give plenty of design headroom on multi-orientation roofs.
