The SMA Sunny Tripower Hybrid X 15 is the most powerful model in the 60 series and is intended for installers working on large homes, multi-family buildings and small commercial premises with battery storage. It combines PV conversion, battery charging and integrated energy management in one unit. It delivers 15 kW of nominal power and 15 kVA of apparent power with a maximum efficiency of 97.8%, and supports up to 22.5 kWp on the DC side. Three independent MPP trackers with a 300–850 V MPP range and 18 A per input allow generously sized strings, and the 90 V start-up voltage brings the system online early in the morning. With an SMA high-voltage battery, surplus production is stored and released when the tariff or the load profile makes it most valuable, and the optional SMA Backup solution supplies the whole building during a grid failure. Up to five units can be paralleled, and the built-in System Manager coordinates up to 10 subordinate devices. Despite its output, the inverter keeps a compact 467 × 239 × 555 mm format at 33.5 kg, mounts on a wall in an IP65 enclosure and is commissioned in around five minutes via the SMA 360° app. Wi-Fi and Ethernet are standard; 4G is optional. A 5 + 5 year manufacturer warranty completes an efficient, scalable and durable proposition.
