The SMA Sunny Tripower Hybrid X 10 is a three-phase hybrid inverter aimed at installers equipping larger homes that combine a substantial PV array with battery storage, EV charging and a heat pump. PV conversion, battery charging and energy management all sit in one device. It provides 10 kW of nominal power and 10 kVA of apparent power at up to 97.4% efficiency, and accepts as much as 15 kWp on the DC side. Three independent MPP trackers with a 200–850 V MPP range and 90 V start-up voltage allow the array to be split across different roof faces without sacrificing yield. Coupled with an SMA high-voltage battery it drives self-consumption up significantly, and the optional SMA Backup solution takes over the whole household supply when the grid drops out, with grid-failure detection and standby consumption below 1 W. Up to five hybrid inverters can run in parallel for larger systems, and the integrated System Manager supervises up to 10 devices. Installation is straightforward: an IP65 wall-mounted enclosure, 33.5 kg, and commissioning in about five minutes via the SMA 360° app. Wi-Fi and Ethernet are on board, with 4G as an option, and monitoring runs through the ISO 27001-certified SMA Cloud.
